From craving to table
Instructions
- 1
In a bowl, toss shrimp with garam masala, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- 2
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Add 1 tbsp vegetable oil and gradually stir in warm water to form a soft dough. Knead for 2-3 minutes, cover, and let rest for 10 minutes.
- 3
Divide dough into 4 balls. Roll each ball into a 6-inch round.
- 4
Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry each dough round until golden and puffed, about 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- 5
For the slaw, toss cabbage, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, Greek yogurt, lime juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
- 6
Heat a separate skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.
- 7
To assemble, place slaw on each fry bread, top with cooked shrimp, and garnish with extra cilantro if desired. Serve immediately.
